Yes. My daughter is EBF. I went back to work at 4 months and she drank BM from a bottle. At 5 months she was sitting and I started her on this cup and she loves it. Light enough for her to hold. 2. Will it spill/leak if toddler is purposefully trying to get the liquid to spill out by shaking it upside down, or sticking his fingers in the lid?
Shaking it upside down won't be a problem. If a toddler turns the cup upside down and sticks their fingers in the lid than that would definitely cause a mess... I have so many nieces and nephews that use these daily and never experienced a mess or issue with them. Hope that helps. (By Jessica on March 10, 2021)
3. Can someone tell me how did their baby figured out how to use this cup? Because I have been trying to get my daughter to drink from it for weeks now.
My guy struggled with it for a while too. I tried drinking from my own cup in front of him, to show how it's done. Then he wanted to drink from my cup too, so I helped him get it up to his mouth and poured a little water in, after spilling it all over himself and coughing a bit from trying to suck rather than sip, I gave him the Proactive Baby's Magical cup to try again and he suddenly had it figured out. Not sure if I'd recommend our method to others, but it worked for us. We also used a variety of other spouted sippy cups so he understood what the whole "cup" thing was all about. The cup is quality corresponds to the photo and description. It does not spill. I highly recommend it to all the moms suffering from Messy Spills.
We've tried all these other cups, but they all leak, or grow mold where you can't clean it, or both. But THESE cups actually are leak proof, super easy to disassemble and dishwasher safe. The only thing I would say is, wash the silicone disc by hand and rinse thoroughly as silicone picks up the scent of the dishwasher and has a hard time releasing all the soap. But my 2 year old does a great job with these cups, they're super durable and I get a big stupid smile on my face every time I find one of these tipped over on the floor with juice inside and my carpet is still dry. Get these. Use them for everything. Never look back. Be overly dramatic when you tell people how much you love them. Realize you need more interactions with adults. But yeah, get these cups.
My husband ordered this for our baby and when it arrived (he wasn't home), I had no idea of how it worked??? I washed and sanitized the cups and left it on the rack to dry. When my husband got home and showed me how it worked...I was excited to see how our baby reacted to this new item....and it only took him a few minutes to figure out how to use it and then it was "grab, drink, and push it over" LOL. The best thing about this cup is that it doesn't spill! No mess no fuss! Excellent for moms! I would recommend this product to all moms!
A couple of years ago I purchased the
Proactive Baby's Magical Sippy Cup for one of our children who did not like to use the conventional sippy cup with a spout. We like the sippy cup very much, so I decided to purchase this Trainer Cup for our younger child. The trainer cup is designed similar to the sippy cup with the addition of helpful handles. The lid and handles of the trainer cup are interchangeable with the lid of the sippy cup. This is a good feature since I can put the handles on the cup if needed as my child grows and wants more liquid. I can also put the regular lid from the sippy cup on the trainer cup if my child no longer needs the handles but wants a smaller amount of liquid. I like that the these cups as these are BPA-free, dentist-recommended, and easy to use. The cups are also very easy to clean if you remove all the parts. In addition to removing the white collar and colored valve, I also remove the clear O-ring. I had read comments of mold growing around the O-ring, so I wanted to be proactive about cleaning it. Some people use a knife to remove the O-ring. I do not recommend doing this because it could damage the O-ring. I have found that the easiest way for me to remove the O-ring is by using my thumb. On the white threaded section underneath the O-ring, there is a smooth vertical gap where there the horizontal ridges end. I place my thumb on this section and push the O-ring down to completely remove it. I wash all the parts by hand with warm soapy water and also use a bottle nipple brush to clean inside the hole underneath the valve. I do not reassemble the cup until all the parts are completely dry. I have had no issues with mold growing on these cups by following the aforementioned cleaning steps. The only issue I have found with these cups is that they do leak a little when they are dropped on the floor, but this is not a big concern for me.
I wish I'd known about these earlier, and skipped sippy cups, which never really worked for us, and gone straight to them. My child was a year old before we tried these cups, but they're recommended for earlier ages and I think would have worked well much earlier, too. It sounds like not everyone 's aware of how the pieces pull apart for cleaning. As others have noted, the *four* pieces come apart completely (cup, handle, lid, and clear silicone ring between lid and cup). Washing them in pieces, I've never had any issues with cleanliness or mold. I find I only need to completely dissemble that fourth piece, the clear silicone ring, every month or so. The ease of use and similarity to drinking from "real" cups is worth the money.
